Making My Own Bumper Stickers...Suggestions Needed
Thu Mar 27, 2008 at 01:34:28 PM PDT
While utilizing the google, I discovered that it is very easy and not cost prohibitive to print custom bumper stickers. I've decided on a thematic string of related stickers in an attempt to appeal to borderline Republicans and Independents. Best case scenario would be they vote for Obama; a more realistic scenario would be they stay home.
"I don't like how they stick together..."

"I don’t like the way they always stick together and will be rude to me and real nice to the next person in line if they’re black."
Although this is not an exact quote, it’s pretty close. And it comes from my mom who I thought was completely color blind. Mom made the above statement about a month ago when we were discussing the role of race in this year’s Democratic primary.
My 'I Still Hate George W Bush' T-shirt
Thu Nov 04, 2004 at 02:38:05 PM PDT
So, a couple of months ago, I found this very stylish, long sleeve black t-shirt on-line. Across the front in serial killer print, the kind of writing you would expect to see in the movie 'Seven' or perhaps 'Twelve Monkeys' or maybe even 'Fight Club,' in relatively small font, reads 'I Still Hate George W Bush.' I wore it yesterday.

Philadelphia Absentee ballots will not be counted until tomorrow morning....
Tue Nov 02, 2004 at 04:11:27 PM PDT
NBC just reported that Republicans had sought and received and injunction against counting Philly's absentee ballots because they say the Dems did not give them a full list of voters that could then be challenged. Apparently the lawyers have to meet tomorrow at 9:30 to sort this out. Apparently, its' tens of thousands of votes and Philly party registration is 5:1 Dem... Pennsylvania may not be declared until tomorrow it appears....
Nevada Early Voting Piece of Cake...
Mon Oct 18, 2004 at 01:37:00 PM PDT
I just cast my vote at a mall in Las Vegas. The workers were extemely efficient and even kind of friendly. The line was only about 6 people deep consistently and the wait was minimal. There was probably around a total of 40-50 touch screen voting machines. The navigation was simple and the instructions to use the machines were very intuitive. After one completes the voting process, a paper trail is generated and displayed to the voter before being stored inside the machine. All in all, the experience couldn't have been better.
And now I'm freed up to drive a van for ACT on Nov. 2!
Anecdotal: 7/11 Experience
Wed Sep 29, 2004 at 01:34:25 AM PDT
Since I live in Las Vegas, my cornerstore is a 7/11. I used to know all the employees at my local 7/11, but because I've moved apartments, I'm having to acquaint myself with a whole new set of employees. Over the past several weeks, I've gotten into the habit of asking many of those I come into casual contact with if they plan to vote in the presidential election. I generally don't try and convince any of these people of who they should vote, but do tell them I plan to support John Kerry. I generally just catalogue their responses into my own cerebral database. Most answer either they do not care or they'll be voting for Kerry. Admittedly, these are not the people who are making over $200,000 a year, but the answers I receive are generally encouraging.
Hammering Zell and Bloggers speak, CNN listens
Wed Sep 01, 2004 at 08:24:04 PM PDT
Not sure if any of y'all caught it, but CNN finally came through tonight. Wolf Blitzer, Judy Woodruff, and one other political mainstay interviewed Zell Miller right after Cheney's speech. And surprise surprise, instead of the shallow questions you might expect, they spent the entire 2 minute segment challenging Zell's claims. They made him look even more foolish than he looked when he was frothing at the mouth in front of the podium. At one point, Wolf Blitzer said, (paraphrased) 'I was there. I know how Cheney voted and he voted against the same weapons systems that Kerry did.' Zell had no response. In another clip, the other announcer whose name I can't remember challenged Zell's accusation that Kerry called our troops 'occupiers' instead of 'liberators' when, in fact, Bush used the phrase 'occupiers' several times. Miller dismissed this as simply not true. He basically told the anchor guy that he didn't believe him. It was really quite a spectacle.
And then, to top it off, after Tad Devine, a Sr. Kerry strategist, gave the Dem perspective to the RNC night, Blitzer reminded the audience that they had done the same for Ralph Reed during the DNC. Is it possible that the people have spoken and CNN has listened? (And Aaron Brown just mentioned bloggers on his show too!)
I'm really excited by the debacle this last night has been for the republicans. Ah yeah!!!!
